East London...we have arrived! And other bits and bobs.

Lots of new pictures up on our page and I've finally put some up on my work knitting group's page.

In other news, we can now be found at Chatsworth Road Market every other Sunday which makes for a busy busy weekend as we do Archway on the Saturday and then Chatsworth the same Sunday.

We've been there twice now, this Sunday will see me set up for the first time and I'm a little scared. It's a lovely market with a friendly atmosphere. It's quite local but people do come specially and I think what really helps it out is that the shops that line each side of the road/market are also open and it just so happens that lots of these are cute little cafés so it's a good place to come and hang out and meet friends.

And I was lucky enough to be visited by some friends, here's Beccie posing in front of the stall strategically so that Marcia isn't in the photo!

There are lots of food markets, I FINALLY got that scotch egg I'd been hankering after for months (long story) but then I wanted something that I saw one of the workers at one of the cafés eating (which is also a great French deli) AND then I wanted what one of my friends was eating which was a burger with bacon and chimichurri which he said was absolutely amazing. I'm afraid I've not done well on getting names of shops and stall but I'll try to do better this weekend.

I also bought and amazing black dress with a gold print on it, I thought it would be too small for me but I couldn't resist and it turns out I can JUST ABOUT squeeze in to it! It was only a tenner and I just fell in love with the print, I plan to wear it to my office Christmas do which I always like to make an effort for (even though all the scientists around me, with one exception, don't tend to).

Phewee

I hear we're going to hit 30 degrees today! Hooray....apparently I'm vitamin D deficient so a little bit (or a lot) of sunshine is JUST what the doctor ordered.

Well, it's been a stressful few days here at one half of sosusie HQs, results day came and went and so did my son's first and second choices of university. He's got in to somewhere good and he's happy but we did have a couple of nail biting days.

I'm looking forward to spending the day on the market, relaxing, chatting to customers and other stall holders and hopefully a few friends will pop down. I think I might make a little bit of lemonade to take along to share with friends as we sit on the deck chairs.

I'm about to have a quiet half hour getting on with one of the many projects I'm working on at the moment, a green jumper in Artesano Superwash DK, the photos I have aren't very good and neither are the ones of the jumper that I'm trying to copy so I'll try to sort out some better ones to put up here.

New wools

I'm very excited....I've just been with the Rico Rep and have ordered LOTS of beautiful new wool including some that are rather a departure from our usual offerings.....

I don't think I'll have any in time for this Saturday but some will definitley be there the next time we're at Archway.

A couple of other things in the pipeline, to be revealed soon.

Two years down and ready for the next one.

Well, our second birthday came and went. It's been a tough year both personally and in terms of the business. Things have picked up since we went back to alternate Saturdays and we're certainly both enjoying ourselves more again now we're back to working the stall together. We also had to say bye to one of our lovely and most loyal of customers, Chiharu, who went back to Japan. Chiharu would visit us every week and would help out now and again, it's really weird not seeing her.

Both Marcia and myself have had some pretty big challenges to face and it is nice to let our hair down (so to speak as neither of us really has the kind of hair you imagine when you think about letting your hair down) and hang out at the market especially as the weather hots up and the sun begins to shine.

Here's a picture of our rather excellent Royal/Team GB bunting for which we used Brigantia Luxury Aran.
Marcia knitted all the triangles (I only managed two and a half in the time she did about 40!?) and I darned in all the ends and put the bunting together. We've tried to produce bunting before but I've not been happy with the colour selection but this works incredibly well.

It's our birthday!!!!

We're now two years old, I can't believe it, and to celebrate we're offering 20% off all yarns for today only. Yes that's right....snap up some beautiful Fyberspates Scrumptious or the gorgeous Manos Serena, a blend of the finest baby alpaca and pima cotton, for a fraction of the price you'll pay anywhere else (this is an unsubstantiated claim and not a price promise!!...c'mon we're a tiny tiny business we can't be getting in to that malarky).

We're also debuting our new Jubilee/Team GB bunting - well, we will be once I get my arse into gear and head over to join Marcia. Photos to follow....
